Hans Kleefeld (1929 – 2016) was a Canadian identity designer, known from his work for companies such as Bank of Montreal, Air Canada, Air Jamaica, and Toronto-Dominion Bank.
Hans was born in Berlin, his dad helped him avoid Nazi recruitment by enrolling him a typeface apprentice program at the age of 15. Kleefeld eventually brought his knowledge of German design and typography to Canada when he immigrated in 1952. Working at Stewart & Morrison in the 1960s, he designed identity programs for some of Canada's largest corporations, including Bank of Montreal, Air Canada, and Inco. He taught at the Ontario College of Art and Design for many years and subsequently at Sheridan College, Ontario.
