Artist of the day: Artist of the Day, September 21, 2021, Nils Lindstrom, an American graphic designer, lettering artist (#1370)

Nils Lindstrom is a classically trained graphic designer - recieving his Bachelors degree from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena in 1980. He began freelancing right out of school and built a clientele of small businesses that needed a wide range of graphic design services but couldn't afford a the large design agency sticker price. Nils designs logotypes, custom fonts, brochures, labels, packaging and print. About 10 years ago Nils expanded into Web design, motion graphics and interactive publications. He has completed projects for Kubota Tractor, American Express, Intel, and Pay Pal. When he is not teaching at the Art Center in Pasadena, Nils works out of his home studio. He collaborates with other professionals depending on the nature of the project.

"I learned the art of production doing past-up boards, spacing type, and inking with a brush and a ruling pen. About 1987 I saw my first Apple Macintosh and knew in an instant that things were never going to be the same. I jumped on board and rode that wave for the next 30 years."
