Primo Angeli, creative director and designer, has a notable reputation in the field of graphic communications. Specializing in design for marketing and communications, his success was based on the development of identities for products, services and for corporations that relied on maximum visual impact, emotional appeal, and consumer acceptance. He’s a major player in the fields of branding, corporate identity, packaging, and naming.
In 1994 his revolutionary brand and package development process, Rapid Access©, challenged the marketing and design industries’ standard product introductory methods. Among Angeli’s high-profile assignments are the designs of the environmental graphics and the official poster for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.
Other Olympics work includes design project consultation with Olympic President Juan Antonio Saramanch, and official designs for the Salt Lake Olympic poster, the US Olympic Team for Nagano and Sydney. In 1998 he was chosen to design official posters for the World Cup in Paris. The two finalists were France and Brazil. “Voilà” won over “Olè”.
A partial list of Primo Angeli Celebratory Posters in permanent collections and exhibitions worldwide also includes the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian Institution, Library of Congress, Cooper-Hewitt Museum, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw Poster Collection, Centre Pompidou, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne and the Achenbach Collection at the Legion of Honor.
Selected honors: Numerous CLIO Awards, Mobius Awards, American Graphic Design Awards; Gold and Silver Awards from the Art Directors Club of New York, the Western Art Directors Club, the Los Angeles Art Directors Club, and the San Francisco Society of Communicating Arts. He served in 1998 as presiding official of the CLIO Awards in New York. Honored for design in San Francisco as an AIGA Fellow, Award for Excellence, Angeli is currently an AIGA member.
