Artist of the day: Artist of the Day, November 4, 2022: Alphée Ballester, a French Emerging artist (#1691)

Alphée Ballester:
Faced with globalization, the evolution of AI, robotization, we no longer take the time to ask ourselves, to think, to dream, to crash, to laugh, because we must always do more, better, and more quick. No room for error, no right to fail, nor to grow old, we must continue to move forward whatever the cost, and this, all the more so in this precarious period that is ours.

Is there still a place today for resentment, doubt, turmoil, emotion, for all that makes us unique, alive and human?

Through my work, I seek to pause to manifest and see beauty. I try to show a part of humanity through inner cries, in a somewhat disenchanted world. I try to embody an emotion (abstract, moving, and intangible) triggered by my environment. I paint a burst, an explosion, a drive, a shock through gesture, color, material, paper collage, the presence or absence of writing.

Today, I talk about my relationship with nature, with this fragile and suspended environment. I question our time and the events that trouble our whole planet.
