Artist of the day: Artist of the Day, August 4, 2023: Andrea Serra, an Italian emerging artist, sculptor (#1871)

Andrea Serra (1981), sculptor and designer, was born in Lecce, Italy. From the earliest years of age he came into contact with the world of beauty thanks to his grandfather, a sculptor and painter on wood, and his mother, an art teacher. Her eyes were feddaily; her small hands began to hint at harmonious movements, modeling and sculpting the most diverse materials. An overwhelming creativity and boundless love for sculpture lead him, from a very young age, to achieve important goals and obtain small greatsatisfactions, such as the one related to his first exhibition: an exhibition in which he proudly parades singular stone animals, rigorously handcrafted.

Andrea lives and works in a beautiful open-air workshop in the countryside that keeps him in constantcontact with nature, his guide in the creation of his works. As he travels, Andrea Serra gets caught by vibrations and unseen lines that he emphasizes in his creations. He lets himself be swept away by emotions and feelings, other sources of inspiration untainted by the hectic and material world that surrounds us.
