Artist of the Day, July 24, 2024: Joan Barrantes, a French sculptor. (#2084)

Born in Paris, Joan Barrantes (1966) was self-educated and attended various courses at the University of Gandia, as well as at the Center for Contemporary Art and Studies “La Rectoria” in Barcelona.

“As a sculptor I normally work with rusted steel and stone either together or separate. My works are a reflection of human feelings viewed from the perspective of Zen Philosophy expressing the maximum with minimum data. The two elements are usually creating a fluid dialogue between them and translate the concept of the sense of time of human reality.“
