Artist of the Day, November 19, 2024: Marian Stachurski, a Polish Graphic artist, poster designer (#2161)

 Marian Stachurski (1931-1980) was a Polish postwar & contemporary artist. He studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts under Henryk Tomaszewski, an influential illustrator who taught many of the most successful poster designers in Poland.

Stachurski created film posters from the late-1950s through the mid-70s, for both domestic and international films.

Marian Stachurski's work has been offered at auction multiple times. Since 2014 the record price for this artist at auction is 901 USD for A poster for the movie "Bullitt, sold at Desa Unicum in 2024.
