Artist of the day, August 25-26: Peter Lippmann, American-French photographer

Peter Lippmann (1956) was born in New York and grew up in New Jersey. Passionate for photography, he started working as an assistant to the photographer Detlef Trefz in 1982. For the past 25 years, Peter Lippmann has lived in Paris and has traveled all over the world. Cartier, Guerlain, Minute Maid, Chianti, Christian Louboutin, Wilkinson as well as Vogue, The NY Times, Le Figaro are some of his clients. And when he has a little time for himself, the photographer plays with Paris rock band Zee Mutts!

In 2011, he showed his photos for the first time in Paris. In all his images, he makes sure that the message is as clear as possible, by adding a touch of poetry. Simplicity, minimalism, no space wasted, no words... These are the main ingredients of a successful photo for Peter Lippmann. His photographs are brilliantly composed and they are inspired by emblematic portraits in art history.

Peter Lippmann is searching for the adventure, he seeks to capture a perfect osmosis between nature and the abandoned cars. This adventure has created a series of pictures which will soon be published in a book. "Paradise Parking", an incredible selection of images of old cars literally abandoned in nature, which has taken over. It may be considered that the owners of these vehicles have the green thumb and have, in their own way, contributed to eco-mobility. Winner of the "Still Life" category for photography in 2012, he is recognized for his work characterizd by simplicity and minimalism.
