Geoffrey Ricardo (1964) is an Australian contemporary visual artist whose work focuses on his sculpture and printmaking practice.
Ricardo was born in Melbourne, Australia. He is known for his Figurative work that centres around a narrative language, Ricardo works primarily in sculpture, printmaking, etching, lithography, & painting. He was the winner of the 2009 Lorne Sculpture Exhibition. He has been a regular artist in residence at the Art Vault Mildura. His paintings, prints and sculptures are represented at the Austrlaian National Gallery in Canberra, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Tasmania, the Holmes A'Court Collection in Wetern Australia, and other regional galleries and institutions. His work is also in Many private collections.
Geoffrey Ricardo, printmaker and sculptor, employs aquatinting the entire plate and using a scraper or burnishing tool to reveal an image, usually a parable of human folly. His exhibition, A dark city narrative (2001), revealed large, complex parables of contemporary city life crammed with incident.
