Timothy Goodman is a graphic designer and artist who has shaped the design industry through his work with major brands. He is constantly trying to find meaning in his work. But what defines meaning? He believes the greatest joy as a designer and an artist is the ability to connect to another human emotionally through his work and words. Whether he's drawing all over a basketball court for students in Brooklyn, launching a social experiment, creating the cover of Time magazine, creating a shoe with Nike, or writing a graphic memoir about being heartbroken in Paris, Timothy wants to start dialogues about difficult topics such as love, manhood, and mental health. Join Timothy as he talks about where he’s been, where he’s at, and how he’s trying to redefine what it means to work in this industry.
He combines typography with illustration in a vibrant style reminiscent of Keith Haring’s Pop Art masterpieces of the 1980s. He’s also known for his viral collaboration with Jessica Walsh, 40 Days of Dating.
Goodman's art and words have populated walls, packaging, clothes, products, magazine covers and one sanitation truck for organizations such as Apple, Nike, Google, Samsung, MoMa, Netflix, YSL, Time, The New Yorker, and the New York Times. His partnerships have included a global collection of clothing with Uniqlo and a Nike b-ball shoe with Kevin Durant. He's created over 250 murals and he regularly donates them to schools & communities in NYC, including a b-ball court in Brooklyn. He's the author of three books and the co-creator of several social experiments including the viral blog 40 Days of Dating and 12 Kinds of Kindness. Timothy’s work often discusses topics such as mental health, manhood, politics, heartbreak and love. He’s had two solo gallery shows in NYC, he teaches at SVA, and speaks around the world at creative conferences. His graphic memoir I Always Think It's Forever was published in 2023 by Simon & Schuster.
