Artists of the Day, March 18, 2023: "Origins." Two generations of art by Mia Bergeron. & Michel Bergeron (#1806)

The Concept
I always wanted to make an art show with my daughters; with Mia as painter or Veronique as writer.  My dream happened! Although it did represent a lot of pressure on me (I did not want to embarrassed my daughters). So here are the results of 3 months of intense work!

The Name Origins came as our basic concept. We both have lived in different cultures and origin. Mia as an American-born with roots from Québec, and a heavy influence by Italy (4 years in Florence) and myself, as Canadian that worked all around the world in the last 40 years. So how to combine these 2 identities?

The set up
Thank you, Mia, for curating perfectly this exhibit (by pairing the sculpture with painting), and thank you, Véronique, for the name generation of the artwork and for keeping us calm in chaos!

The opening night
What a dream! We had a lot of people that came to celebrate the opening (and my birthday).
Thank you so much Leesburg Center for the Arts.Thank you Mia for working in tandem with me and Mia and Veronique for curating the show!

Mia displayed her oil paintings, and me, the sculptures. The second part of this presentation are the sculptures in places where they are, or where they will be, or where they should be.

  2. This exhibit is stunning. The work from each artist is so very different yet, pair so well. The pieces hold the conversation in the room.
