Artist of the Day, September 19, 2025 : Armineh Negahdari, an Iranian emerging artist (#2370)

Armineh Negahdari creates as naturally as she breathes. This may seem exaggerated or even old-fashioned as an introduction to the work of the 31-year-old Iranian artist, but the reason why I use this expression is to evoke, as she does in her practice of drawing and sculpture, an intimate image that has nothing to do with research nor with the definition of a method.

Negahdari has never confused exercise with the work itself, neither when she was a student at the University of Tehran nor today, as her life in France has become more professional since 2023, allowing her to take in the reactions her work creates due to its expressive power and mystery. This artistic endeavor is not a display of self, but an effort to break out of silence and develop a world of feelings and thoughts that, like poetry, is far from clumsy, powerless, or academic. »

 Negahdari has developed an artistic practice that combines drawing and sculpture, shaped by an international academic background. She earned a DNSEP from the École Supérieure d’Art in Clermont-Ferrand, France, in 2022, after completing a Master’s degree in Painting, Art, and Architecture at the University of Tehran, Iran, in 2019. She began her artistic training with a Bachelor’s degree in Painting from Al-Zahra University, Tehran, in 2017.
