Artist of the Day, July 15, 2026 : Pere Sala, a Spanish sculptor (#2579)

Pere Sala (1962) is a Catalan sculptor. He studied sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona.

After completing his university studies, Sala began working in different fields to deepen his knowledge of design. He studied, among other things, the new synthetic materials used for shop mannequins.

Since 2004, Sala has been working with bronze. This material gives him the freedom to work in themes and explore the different movements of the body.

Pere Sala's art is in a constant process, where he puts his knowledge of the human body in new perspectives but still remains faithful to the classical ideals of sculpture, as we know it from, among others, Arístides Mallol and Edgar Degas or a modern artist like Anthony Gormley.
