Christopher Herwig is a Canadian cinematographer, known for his movie "Fini de rire" (2014) and his books "Hunting for Soviet Bus Stops" (2015).
Christopher Herwig spent 12 years photographing Soviet bus stops has revealed he was almost threatened with a firing squad after a driver accused him of being a spy. He began an 18,000 mile journey in 2002 and visited 13 different countries taking pictures of the extravagant bus pavilions dotted around the former USSR.
Most have been out of use for decades, but many show how some architects were inspired to produced elaborate designs in an era where many buildings were dull and monotonous.
