Cold Open was founded in 1999 by John Peed. After graduating from the University of Georgia, John moved to Los Angeles where he took his love of fine art and graphic design and began working as a freelance art director creating movie posters. Through his experiences working at various agencies and studios, John created his own vision for the type of advertising agency he wanted to establish.
In the years that followed, Cold Open has become a leader in innovative key art design, while fostering a strong culture of talented, honest, thoughtful people who enjoy working together in a fun, inspiring environment.
With offices in Venice Beach, California, Cold Open’s team is committed to being specialists in key art design. Whether it’s taking a moment to bike along the strand or grab a coffee on the beach, we find inspiration in our neighborhood, in our work, and in each other
