Alexandre Touguet graduated from Kedge Design School in 2010, he starts his career alongside Ora-ïto as an industrial designer. After this first two-year experience, he successively join Fritsch-Durisotti Agency and Christophe Pillet Agency, in which he will observe different ways of practicing the profession and will take inspiration from it to build his own identity. In February 2014, he joined Philippe Starck’s team for a collaboration that will last almost 5 years during which he will reinforce his convictions, his know-how and refine his artistic vision. These years spent with the bests allowed him to become completely autonomous and acquire the necessary skills for the realization of a whole design project. The agency Alexandre Touguet now offers its expertise in design thinking, 3D modeling, computer graphics and more generally industrial creation.
For several years, the job of Industrial Designer has been constantly evolving. Computer tools has mainly revolutionized the execution process and offered new working perspectives. The 3D tool allows you to quickly and seductively visualise a product or a space. The flexibility and precision provided by these new tools also saves time for the production phase. Here is Touguet process:
First step: the creative phase
The creative phase consists of defining, with the help of the client and precise specifications, creative directions that can be developed according to their relevance. This step is a real discussion with the customer who knows the reality of the market on which it is positioned as well as the constraints to be integrated into the project. It can be summarized as sketches on paper or 3D drafts.
Second step: 3D modeling
This second phase will make it possible to materialize and refine an idea previously expressed on paper. The 3D tool also validates assumptions by directly viewing scales, volumes and other technical details with precision. It is an indispensable phase and saves valuable time because it can be used directly by a design office but also can be used to create computer-generated images to communicate about the project.
Third step: computer image
The computer image will finalize the design by defining textures and materials to the project. The level of rendering can today reach a photographic level to such a point that it will be almost impossible for a normal person to differentiate a computer image of a real photo. These images can will be used by prototyping technicians in order to perfectly stick to the original idea or the communication to create ads for the project.
